Dublin by night (30/01/2010)

I've being commenting recently on the Irish forums that there aren't enough 1:15000 maps used in Irish races anymore. Only once a year at the Irish champs long distance is when i get to run on 1:15000. So as a joke when i arrived for the nightO one of the people from the organising club handed me a 1:15000 map of the park for the race. It was out of date by 15-20 years and it was so small the map fitted into my wallet easily. It is 7cm x 5.5cm in dimension.

Since i was only doing a slow recovery jog i drew the course on the small map and ran the race with it. And i used my nokia phone as a "torch". Only half of people in Ireland buy powerful head torches and some of the others call me a cheat for having my Silva torch. I made two mistakes, two minutes in total, but spiked nearly all the controls.
